Brent’s Pick: Summertime Slow Down

Time seems to slow down at Four Roses over the summer because we take a break from production at the Distillery, but that doesn’t mean we’re not working. This summer, I’m not only committed to maintaining that consistent Four Roses quality that we all know and love, but also spending more time outdoors with friends and family.

At Four Roses we kicked off the warmer months with our Company’s third annual Salt River clean up. Many of our team members volunteered on May 16th to spend the afternoon removing debris from the banks of the Salt River, which runs adjacent to our property and is of particular importance to us because it is the water source for making our Bourbon. Without the clean, limestone rich water that the Salt River provides, we could not produce Four Roses. This annual cleanup also raises awareness of the importance of a clean environment for our community and our industry.

Kentucky is a wonderful place during the Summer months, and I try to enjoy this time with my family outdoors as much as possible. Whether we are biking, camping, fishing, hiking, or just spending time together outdoors, it’s a great time of year to get out and explore all that Kentucky has to offer.

One particular way I enjoy Summer is cycling. I live in a rural area, so I have many scenic and peaceful country roads to explore. It’s a great way to get some exercise and relax while enjoying the beautiful countryside.
