Nulu-area bars recently created holiday-inspired cocktails for Nuludays, the inaugural Four Roses Bourbon holiday cocktail challenge. After two weeks of voting, Garage Bar took home first place, while Against the Grain and Haymarket claimed second and third, respectively. We thought you’d like to make some of these drinks for yourself over the holidays. Mix a few of these up and enjoy. Cheers!
Garage Bar “You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out”
- 2 oz Four Roses Single Barrel
- .75 oz charred caramel, juniper, sage and clove syrup
- 1 vial orange bitters
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Serve with orange peel
Against the Grain “Scarlet Fever”
- 2 oz Four Roses Small Batch
- 1 oz raspberry 35K beer syrup
- .5 oz sweet vermouth
- .25 oz house chai
- .25 oz lime
- Black walnut bitters
- Mint leaves
Haymarket “The Jane Doe”
- 1.5 oz Four Roses Single Barrel
- .75 oz spiced Haymarket house cider
- .5 oz Haymarket grenadine
Galaxie “Chai Milk Punch”
- 2 oz Four Roses Bourbon
- 2 oz milk
- .25 oz Ramazzati
- .5 oz chai syrup
Feast “Yung Turk”
- 2 oz Four Roses Bourbon
- 4 luxardo cherries
- 2 dashes Fee Brothers cranberry bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- .5 oz Ancho Reyes
- Stir, serve over ice. Garnish with orange peel and fresh cranberries.
Decca “The Poison Apple”
- 2 oz Four Roses Single Barrel
- .5 oz black walnut liqueur
- .25 oz apple syrup
- 4 dashes spiced apple bitters
Harvest “Great Pumpkin”
- 2 oz Four Roses Bourbon
- 1 oz house made pumpkin syrup
- .25 oz house made cherry syrup
- .25 oz gingersnap liqueur
- Eyedropper of gingerbread bitters
