Brooklyn Black Ops, Round Two
blog | 11/19/2020
We’re are excited to share the launch of the 2020 Brooklyn Black Ops, part of our partnership with Brooklyn Brewery. This partnership began with a long-time friendship between Brooklyn Brewery Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and Four Roses COO and Director of Operations Ryan Ashley.
This limited-release beer was aged in Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon barrels hand-selected by Brent Elliott. A Russian Imperial Stout, this vintage of Brooklyn Black Ops is 12.4% ABV, raises a fluffy dark brown head, and combines big chocolate and coffee notes with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak. In addition to the barrel-aging, the brew was re-fermented with Champagne yeast.
Every year Brooklyn Brewery releases a Black Ops bottling that is created by the brewing team. This year’s Black Ops will be available in limited quantities wherever Brooklyn Brewery is available, including the Four Roses Distillery Visitor Center, beginning in late November. Approximately 2,000 cases of cork-topped, 750mL bottles will be sold in the United States with a suggested retail price of $24.99.
